Rituals use somatic theatrics to open portals

Cannot place itself in living present
Dreaming is the vehicle of our ecological belonging, dreams belong to life

We welcome the solstice, our longest day on this half of the planet
Longest day is simultaneously longest night
They happen together
Bright summer and deep winter
Inexorable, continuous like breath

There is also wisdom in recognizing that this day marks the beginning of the summer, yet
The warmth lags behind. It clashes with the residual coldness of our lake
It give us rain and wind, change and erosion
It gives and gives, we receive and receive

Today is a day of abundance
Abundant light, birdsong, waving water
We mark today with abundant food, drinks, energy, friends
We give, and expect not back
For the trees dont measure the air they produce, nor the beauty they hold
The birds do not sing with recognition in mind

We too are part of a thick textile of exchange
life giving and receiving itself
Energy consumed, passed, offered, recycled
So when we take care of the land, when we tend to the life around us, we tend to ourselves, we tend to life and magic, and the breath that bore us
We welcome the solstice
Longest day and longest night
